Welcome to Undestined: a Serial Story. As you may have been able to guess from the title, this is serial story, meaning that it will be told in short entries over a long period of time. Sound strange? It didn't use to be. In fact, Charles Dickens wrote almost all of his books this way. Really. In fact, web fiction and serial stories in general have been growing in popularity in recent years. If you're interested, you can check some out over at webfictionguide.com.
I keep about 1 month ahead of the story, which lets me make changes and adjust it based on reader reaction and input. Consequently, there will sometimes be typos and the story may have a slightly jumpy feeling. There may also be an unannounced hiatus from time to time. Writing, alas, is not my job. I do this for my (and hopefully your) entertainment, and sometimes life just gets in the away. Apologies in advance.
So, what should you expect while reading this story? Will there be great writing, impressive character development, and original ideas and story lines? Umm, probably not. I'm not Dickens. But you can expect cheesy plots, fun at the expense of the quest genre, and plenty of adventure. In fact, there's no telling where the story might go! (no, really, there isn't. I don't know the ending yet.) The story starts slow, but it will pick up quickly.
So, consider this your invitation to join me on a journey through a world of magic, cliche, and adventure. I don't know where we're going, but it will be fun.
I'll be posting once a week on Sundays, so check in then. Posts are shown on the main page from newest to oldest, so use the Story Archive on the sidebar to read the posts in order, starting with the oldest.
If you fall behind, or are new and don't want to read through the archives (lazy, lazy. Tsk.), you can catch up with what's been happening over on the "Plot" page (if you're new, you might also want to check out the "Characters" and "Places" pages).
If you want to know more about me, you can also check out my personal blog, "Mea Terra".
What are you doing still reading this page? Click on "The Story" and join the adventure!
